brake shoes This is much better that the pads that came on my caliper. They look better and have replaceable pads. The performance is just what I expected it would be. Installation is simple and pad replacement is a snap. Overall I am happy with the quality and looks. I would recommend these to anyone. Pros: Looks
Simplicity of installation and upkeep
Easy to adjust Cons: A little on the heavy side Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 14, 2012 Reviewed by: Kameron B., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
I bought these to put on an old Raleigh road bike. They didn't fit quite right. The hole in the caliper was too small. I had to file them out slightly to get these to fit. I haven't used them much yet - I'm curious how long these will last. At this price point though I'm not sure I care. Pros: They stop the bike. Cons: I'm guessing they weren't designed for the calipers I have. I'll take the blame for that one though.

I bought these as a cheap set with the hopes of upgrading the pads in the future. The pads that come with them are great. Better than I expected! Pros: Cartridge housings with great pads for a great price! Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 30, 2012 Reviewed by: phil, New York Was this review Helpful? Better than the salmon Kool-stops in wet weather, oddly. They wear pretty well, too, and don't cost a lot. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 26, 2010 Reviewed by: Jeff O., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
I got these mainly for the shoes to simplify the process of brake pad changes, as Ultegra brakes on a used bike I had purched had cheap all in one replacement pads. The pads seem to stop fine, but they did leave a lot of residue on the rim. I ended up swapping the pads for some Kool Stops - no residue. I will hold on to them as backups. But the shoes work great. Pros: Good shoes, compatible with Shimano Ultegr cartidge pads. Pads stop the bike fine. Cons: Pads leave residue on the rim Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 15, 2010 Reviewed by: Martin K., British Columbia Was this review Helpful? Cheap, does the job Bought a set of these for a friend's road bike. Now he's got nice brake pads that can accept new brake pad inserts down the road. Pros: price, replaceable brake pads Cons: brake pad is not as good as Shimano or Kool Stop Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 13, 2010 Reviewed by: Erik V., Oregon Was this review Helpful?
