I love these pads, almost shelled out to go with a disk upgrade. tried these hoping to try one last pad... it worked! glad i got em, salmon is almost as good as disk. Pros: saves a lot of $$$ if you need more stopping power. great in all weather Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 04, 2013 Reviewed by: terry b., California Was this review Helpful? Work good in all conditions but seem to wear quickly. Pros: Work good in all conditions. Cons: Wore quickly. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 16, 2012 Reviewed by: Aaron A., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

Work well in the wet I bought these (Salmon) to replace the stock Tektro pads on my Oryx cantilever brakes, they work well in all conditions are were pretty quiet once adjusted properly. Pros: Work well
Good modulation
easy to adjust Cons: pricey for what they are Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 17, 2011 Reviewed by: Jason, Minnesota Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Reliable. Why pay more ? I have always used koolstop as replacement for OEM, both on regular and ceramic rims. Pros: Reasonable price.
Thinline make adjustment over the rim surface easier. Cons: None. Reviewed on: March 13, 2011 Reviewed by: Chris C. Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
These are the pads to have They almost work too well sometimes. I frequently run the black pads up front because these are softer & can grab really hard causing fork shudder. That said, I use these exclusively. I highly recommend them. Pros: Good mounting hardware, great stopping power, decent pad life Cons: none really Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 16, 2010 Reviewed by: johnny b., Oregon Was this review Helpful? The standard pad When I get a new pair of rim brakes, first thing I do is replace the stock pads with these. The black compound is perfect for dry Norcal cyclocross conditions. Pros: Much softer and more grippy than most/all stock pads. Good adjust ability. These pads wear quickly and can scream loudly if not toed in properly. I've since switched to pads with removable pads and prefer those over these. For the price I feel like these should perform better and last longer. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: September 20, 2010 Reviewed by: Matthew B., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Better than stock Avid pads These are softer and grab better than the stock Avid pads they replaced. Took a while to get them quiet with Avid Shorty cantilever brakes, but they were an improvement in the end.
Next time, I'll just buy new brakes altogether. Pros: Softer compound, better braking. Cons: Setup. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: September 15, 2010 Reviewed by: Matt K., Pennsylvania Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
I really want to like these pads. While they look like they should offer better braking characteristics than other pads, they fall short in actual service. After experimenting with other pads I finally settled on Shimano pads in a proper shoe and find they offer much smoother and firmer braking than these pads. Pros: Cheap Cons: Don't brake as hard or as smooth as Shimano pads. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: September 05, 2010 Reviewed by: Aaron, Portland, OR Was this review Helpful?
