Switched to these tires for my 29er. Super ride quality on firm and loose over firm surfaces. The casing of these tires really does provide a smooth ride with very little rolling resistance. Great traction in all but super muddy conditions. Have yet to see the overall durability of the tires but am very pleased with the ride quality. Pros: Good traction. Great ride. Traildog I really like this tire. I have used it on the rear only and it performs great. Don't let the looks deceive you. It pulls in all conditions except deep leaf cover, but nothing works there anyway. I thought it would pack up with mud, but it hasn't. I think I'll buy another and try it out on the front also. Pros: Light, grippy, easy to mount tubeless, great traction. Cons: Thin sidewalls, easy to cut on sharp rocks. Bummer if tubeless. Certainly a dry conditions ONLY tire. Will not put up with dampness. Sealed ok tubeless, but one condition use meant they had to come off. I'd run a semi slick instead for those kinds of conditions. Pros: Weight, speed. Cons: Better fast tires that can tolerate slightly marginal conditions. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: June 14, 2011 Reviewed by: Nicholas L. Light and Fast Rolling I use this tire on my 29er and my BMX cruiser bikes and they work great. Light, fast and smooth. Good on non-technical, smooth single track. I would recommend the Kenda Nevegal instead for all-mountain, technical or wet/sloppy conditions. Pros: Weight
Low Rolling Resistance Cons: Treads not very deep and wear quickly. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 29, 2011 Reviewed by: Greg, Snoqualmie, WA Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great tire for Central Oregon I ride this tire over in Central Oregon. It's almost perfect for conditions over there, especially now that fall weather has arrived.
I'm using it tubeless with Stan's Flow Rims and have had no problems. Pros: Fast. Great traction. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 30, 2010 Reviewed by: Winston S., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
"Race Wheel" I have raced this wheel and there is not any terrain that I would not use this tire on. It is all a matter of air pressure and how much control you want to sacrifice for SPEED.
Ride um, try different pressures and you won't go back.
bh Pros: Consistant
Light
Tough
Fast Cons: like to see a 2.0 version just to try Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 20, 2010 Reviewed by: Brent H., Indiana Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Couldn't get it on! Not sure if I got one from a bad batch or what but I could not mount this to a Stan's Arch rim. I got one bead on but could not for the life of me get the other side on. levers broken, rim dinged etc. I had to cut the first side off. Tried talcum, soapy water and sweat. Very expensive mistake.
I've used the 700x38c versions on another bike without issue. This one though just refused to mount. Pros: heh. just no. Cons: maybe a bad batch but I could not get this tire mounted.
