Cable/housing Love the Jagwire kits Pros: Lots of colors avail. Everything you need is included Cons: None, best priced kit out there Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 20, 2013 Reviewed by: Charlie s., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
These are the best cables I've ever used. Easy to set up, very low friction, noticeably less effort needed to shift and no skips to speak of. Highly recommended. The fully sealed kit also lasts forever. Ran one set for a year and a half before that frame broke with no loss in performance to speak of. Pros: Easy to set up, long lasting, very low friction. Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 28, 2013 Reviewed by: Ryan J. Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

Smooth Super smooth operation and new life for an old derailleur and shifter. Seals well, yet lets things slide as they need. Also includes all of the quality that are made well for the finishing touch. A little too short I generally like the jagwire teflon cables, especially for brakes. The derailleur set is just as good, nice stiff housing and slick cables. The only problem is that these are about 6 inches too short for a full run front and rear on a Pugsley. I had to make a short extension with a coupler for the front. Pros: Stiff housing, slick cables. Cons: Just a touch too short. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 04, 2013 Reviewed by: Nick L., Minnesota Was this review Helpful? Great shift cables The Jagwire Ripcords work great, and they're available in colors. Take that Shimano! I also love that they come with cable protecting liner and enough ferrules. Consider me a convert. Pros: Great performance, loads of color options, long lasting. Cons: None so far. Rippin Cables! Used these on a bike build some time ago and will now not use anything else. I find these cables to be the cat's meow. Shifting is smooth and precise. No housing compression and the cables are pretty darn well sealed. The available colors are a nice option too.
Only problem I've found is that the included cable ends won't fit into all derailleur fittings. Pros: Well sealed. Great shifting. Durable. Cons: Included housing caps won't fit into all derailleurs. Set up several MT bike with Ripcord cables. I ride 3-4 week throughout the year in all conditions. Ripcord cable systems seem to last longer than conventional systems. Pros: Lasts longer, weather resistant set up. Available in a variety of colors. Overall I am very pleased with the quality of this cable kit. However I did not have enough cable housing to do a full length run to both my front and rear derailleur. I lacked about 6 inches of being able to do both if I would run the rear cable on the right side of the head tube. (Intense Spider 29) Pros: Good quality. Nice custom color choices Cons: Could use about a foot more cable housing for full length runs with smooth routing for 90 deg bar rotation without binding. These are the most durable cables I've ever used. The shifting is perfect and the cables glide really nicely. Everything feels great when shifting - I won't buy anything but nice cables from now on. Pros: + SUPER responsive and feel great to pull. Side-by-side comparison against cheap cables is really noticeable.
+ Plenty of spare parts. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 05, 2012 Reviewed by: Steve Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Quality/functional derailleur cable kit I usually use Gore cables but their housing is a bit too big for the cable routing guides on my bike. This was the next best alternative. They are much cheaper. Come in many colors. Easy to install. Shifts are crisp and instantaneous. Pros: Price

The best thing you can say about cables is when you install them and forget about them because they cause no problems or noises and that's exactly the case with these shifter cables!
I've never given Jag much credit because of how cheap they're portrayed and wouldn't have bought them if not for all the great reviews. No regrets here - BUY THEM! Good cheap and easy While I understand how important cables are for a properly functioning drivetrain I still think some of the fully sealed systems out there are WAY overpriced. I bought this as an alternative and added some heat shrink tubing and created my own fully sealed system. It was a significantly cheaper option. My only issue came when I overheated one of the ferrules causing it to melt. I had to jury rig an option because the ferrules aren't standard sized. This is the system's only fault. Otherwise it has been flawless, comes in some great colors and adds a nice bling factor. Pros: Colors, performance, price, looks Cons: Ferrules are proprietary Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 01, 2012 Reviewed by: Mark S., Oregon Was this review Helpful?
