Cane Creek SCR-3L Road Caliper

its hard to find nice long reach calipers - i bought these for my surly steamroller and couldn't be happier. easy to install, easy to setup and they have some great stopping power!

the stock pads are terrible though, so do yourself a favor and order some kool stops.

This is definitely the best caliper I've ever used. The stock pads are not great and wore out quick, but everything else is solid and simple to install/maintain.

Pros: Powerful

Cons: stock pads are crap

Nice brakes

Had to get some long-reach to accomodate fenders. A definite improvement over some cheap Tektros. Nice and snappy feel. I wish they would have used alloy instead of plastic on the barrel adjuster and the quick release, but the plastic they use seems pretty good and those parts don't get too much use. Pads they come with are too stiff - replace with some higher quality ones before using.

Great brakes w/ extra reach.

Bought these for my do-it-all Salsa frame which required a brake with more reach than standard calipers and I'm glad I chose these. They look sharp, have excellent feel, offer powerful braking, provide clearance for fenders, and with the exception of natural pad wear- are maintenance free. The stock pads aren't exceptional but swapping them out for some softer compound pads is very easy. Even with stock pads having room for improvement I give these 5 stars, they're great!

Pros: Great styling, easily adjustable, powerful, good tire/fender clearance, extra reach.

Cons: Stock pads are a bit stiff.
