Nicely designed spoke wrench, great feel These wrenches are nicely designed. The top of the wrench nests against the spoke giving you great feel when adjusting the spokes. It says a lot that UC uses them in their wheel building shop. Pros: Good feel Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 27, 2013 Reviewed by: Jason A., Connecticut Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
This is a solid spoke wrench and is comfortable to use. There's nothing particularly wrong with it but for wheel building I prefer to have a good four sided wrench. For small adjustments to an already built wheel this serves that need just fine. Reviewed on: February 07, 2013 Reviewed by: Tim, Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Every wheelbuilder has his favorite tool and there's really no convincing them otherwise. I don't presume to categorize myself amongst them just yet, but I have used a fair variety of spoke wrenches and these are my favorite, comfortable in the hand, not too big, not too small, easily identifiable from size to size with the color coding. Top notch. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 04, 2012 Reviewed by: tyler b., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Gets the job done. Not the best choice in my opinion for doing a ton of wheel building but great for some quick truing and just having in the toolbox. Park Tool spoke wrenches are the most comfortable, easy on-off, and exact-fitting spoke wrenches that you can buy. It doesn't hurt that they aren't too expensive either. The standard three sided wrenches are fantastic, but for complete security I've found the four-side to work very well, although it's slower on and off than a three-sided wrench. All in all, there's a wrench for any size nipple, and they all work fantastic. Pros: Every size you need.
Inexpensive.
Color-differentiated for easy identification.
Exacting measurements. Cons: Four-sided wrenches can be hard to get on and off a nipple. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 23, 2012 Reviewed by: Wade S., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Indipensable for any home mechanic Tool is well built and mates well with nipples of the correct size. Pros: Tool is comfortable and does the job. Gotta love the Park spoke wrenches! These are the best spoke wrenches in the bike biz. Note that the blue wrench is an odd-ball size and you aren't likely to need it anytime soon... Pros: Quick to use
Fits right
Doesn't round the nipples! Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 22, 2011 Reviewed by: James, Oklahoma Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
No surprises Park tools are the industry standard so no suprises here. The wrench works perfectly and is built to last. While you are at it, get a spoke tensioner too! Pros: Small enough to get in tight places (48 hole), yet big enough to easily tighten (115 kgf). Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 16, 2011 Reviewed by: david s., Wisconsin Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Park Tool Spoke Wrench This wrench fits on easily, won't strip nipples, and is comfortable to use. Pros: Solid fit, easy to get on and off. Cons: Figuring out which size you need. I have the black and red. Black fits most wheels red fits almost everything else Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 15, 2011 Reviewed by: Raven S., Sacramento Was this review Helpful? used the 4 sided spoke wrench for a couple of wheel builds and if your not paying atention you can lock it on the nipple. this one wont do that works great for truing wheels. Pros: wont lock on nipple. Cons: none so far. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 19, 2011 Reviewed by: Jason S., Iowa Was this review Helpful? I bought some cheaper wrenches at Performance and they didn't last very long. They weren't made as well and didn't fit the nipples as good as the park wrenches do. The Park stuff is kind of the standard. Pros: Work really well, comfortable, fit nipples with little play Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 05, 2010 Reviewed by: Brian K., Oregon Was this review Helpful? I have never found a spoke wrench that really worked well, some brands are better than others. This is where the Park wrench falls in my opinion. It is better than the other wrenches I have used, but still I keep looking for more. Perhaps its my big fingers...Bottom line, it works and does what it is supposed to. It seems to be well made Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 18, 2010 Reviewed by: Terry T., Hawaii Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Park Tool ST Spoke Wrench Used to build several sets of wheels and it works fine. Does not have the security of the 4-sided wrench but will not destroy nipples if you are careful and mount is properly. Lack of leverage can fatigue hands over the course of a build. Pros: -cheap
-works well
-durable Cons: -lack of leverage can lead to fatigue Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 16, 2010 Reviewed by: Tim S., Mass Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Park standard BLUE spoke wrench I have a whole rattle of different spoke keys, and seriously.. I have never used this blue size ever! I've built numerous wheels and services many bikes, but this tool seems to correspond with nothing. I've had it for years, but I'm afraid to discard it in case that's the day I need it LOL. Tip: most nipples by far need a Black wrench, the rest either Red or Green. Blue is biggest of the lot. Unable to recommend this one sorry Pros: n.a. Cons: Defunct size perhaps from 60's or 70's ??
