Tiny allen screw can round out I put this spacer on so I could swap stems until I got my fit sorted out without having to adjust my headset every time.
Unfortunately, if it takes you a while to get your headset dialed in, loosening and tightening the spacer is one more step in the process.
The 3mm allen head was easy to round out. This spacer would benefit from a harder bolt. Pros: Allows you to swap stems without losing headset adjustment. Cons: Soft screw head, easy to damage.

These should be standard equipment I started using a locking headset spacer on my bike when I found myself trying out new handlebars and stems frequently. Saw the idea on Sheldon Brown's website. They make it so easy since they lock in the headset tension adjustment. Then I started using them on the kid's bikes for the same reason. With these locking spacers and lock on grips, swapping bars and stems for cockpit adjustment is almost fun. I do suggest a torque wrench for the pinch bolt especially for others like me who have a torque sensing deficiency. Pros: Simple part that does the job well.
Cons: Logo on black spacer might be too much for some. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 11, 2011 Reviewed by: Jay, Always moving Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
An ideal accessory for dialing in bike fit It took me several months to tweak my randonneuring bike into a properly comfortable fit, and being able to keep the headset properly adjusted while playing around with stem position was /easily/ worth the money I paid for it.
It makes it almost as easy to adjust a threadless stem as a threaded stem.
Pros: an amazing timesaver Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 23, 2011 Reviewed by: David P., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Can't live without it This simple little component makes life on an airplane, in the back of the car, in your closet or on your repair stand a little bit easier.
Particularly helpful if you are flying with your bike, or need to get onto cramped trains in europe while on a cycle tour. Pros: Simple, functional and inexpensive Cons: Says Problem Solvers in big white lettering on the black one, would be nice if the logo was a bit subdued. Good if you need to remove your bars to get your bike into a tight spot, like your car, without losing headset adjustment. Also works well as an extra clamp if you a running a direct mount stem on a dual crown fork with an uncut or long steertube. Pros: Price. Design. EXTREMELY handy for travel, eg in the car where you loosen the stem to rotate the bars around. No more fiddling with headset adjustment every time. Pros: Huge time saver. Cons: Is about 8mm thick so if you need your stem lower than that it would not be the best. Great for keeping the forks and headset attached and adjusted if you need to remove the stem and handlebars. Small size, blends in with the other headset spacers. I use it on a folding bike, I am always removing or turning the handlebars to put the bike in a car or small space, so this was a good find. Pros: Works well Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 18, 2010 Reviewed by: Terry T., Hawaii Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
